We're back from exhibiting at the busiest ever Natural & Organic Products Show - read on to find out more.
Earlier this month, Organic Herb Trading exhibited at Natural & Organic Products Europe, the largest and longest running organic trade show in the UK. 2016 was the show’s 20th anniversary and was celebrated with over 2500 exhibitors and 7600 visitors, ranging from independent retailers and herbal practitioners, to buyers for the multiple retailers and major manufacturers.
Our stand focused on showcasing the global nature of our business as well as the breadth of services we offer, from sourcing, to NPD/EPD, contract milling and blending. Members of our team representing the different areas of our business were on hand to meet with customers and suppliers face to face.
With the organic market continuing to strengthen, the message from the Soil Association was for brands and retailers to make sure they are communicating to customers that their products are organic, and bring to life the associated benefits.
At Organic Herb Trading we are certainly seeing a significant emphasis on new product development, something that we are able to support with our in-house team of experts and a clear sign that there is real optimism amongst organic businesses. A number of nutrient-dense ingredients continue to be the focus of attention, for their perceived heath functionality: turmeric root, baobab and beetroot powders, alongside green teas such as sencha, oolong and matcha, and seaweeds in a variety of forms from flakes to chips to granules.
Visitors to our stand were welcomed with teas developed by our master herbal blenders, and tasty Baobab treats, showcasing this incredible superfood and our Zimbabwean supply partner B’Ayoba (click here for recipes!). All of this was framed by a vibrant collection of live herbs grown in our herb field in Somerset, and just a small selection of our product range from around the world – from Iranian rose buds to Seagreens ascophyllum from the Outer Hebrides.
It was great to catch up with so many friends, old and new and we look forward to an exciting year ahead for organic food and farming.
