FairWild Liquorice in Spain

Eileen Clark reports from a rather hot and windy visit to Herbes del Moli, our FairWild Liquorice supplier in Spain.

Back in Spain for my fifth visit to the Zaragoza region, I met with strong winds, as you can hear in the short film below!

Luckily the temperatures had dropped from recent highs of 44 degrees; it’s a harsh but strikingly beautiful region (I’m reliably informed that parts of Game of Thrones were filmed here).

In a lovely example of FairWild in action, the whole supply chain was represented for our conversation about spending the premium fund money – the collectors who dig the roots, the company that manages the quantities and the drying, the processor and exporter, ourselves as importer and tea blender, and the final brand-holder whose tea bags are on shop shelves around the world.

On my last visit I was out in the field for the regeneration study, checking how well the plant community recovers after harvesting liquorice.  These two pillars of FairWild – environment and people – combined with a top quality product make this a ‘hero’ in our range, one we’re very proud to put in your cuppa.
