Biofach 2016
This month we visited Nuremberg, Germany, for the annual Biofach European organic trade show.
We were really pleased this year to be able to meet with so many of our suppliers (and of course, some of our customers too) at the ever-growing show. It represents a unique opportunity for us to meet face to face, and build relationships with existing and potential suppliers from around the world in one central location, alongside our direct visits to growing and processing sites.
The Organic Herb Trading team this year included Matt Richards and Eileen Clark, alongside of course our Founder, Mike Brook. The team gave particular focus to discussions with our various certified fair trading supply chain partners – including Fair for Life certified fennel seed sourced from Turkey - and our key FairWild-certified suppliers of a range of products from lime flowers to liquorice to juniper berries, based in Spain and eastern Europe. We also took the opportunity to announce our new partnership with Zimbabwean Baobab supplier, B'Ayoba (the photo above shows (left to right) Fran and Gus from B'Ayoba, alongside Emerald Brook from Organic Herb Trading).
We’re already looking forward to our next trade show – Natural & Organic Products in London on 17-18 April – please get in touch if you’re attending and would like to meet up with the team – and of course, to seeing our key suppliers again later in the year on home soil.
